Electrolytes+ Product Breakdown

Electrolytes+ is releasing on Thursday, June 30th at 8pm EST along with six Functional & Fxckable training headbands. Get ready for the hottest product drop of the summer!

Hydration is crucial for optimal performance and health. In fact, studies show that performance decreases when an individual is just 2% dehydrated based on body weight.[1]

Dehydration negatively affects performance through several mechanisms, such as:

  • Reduced sweat rate[1]
  • Decreased blood volume[1]
  • Decreased skin blood flow[1]
  • Increased core temperature[1]
  • Increased rate of muscle glycogen usage[1]
  • Reduce heat dissipation[1]

During intense exercise bouts, water isn’t the only thing that your body excretes. There are several key electrolytes that are lost in sweat as well, including sodium, potassium, calcium, chloride, phosphorus, and magnesium, which need to be replenished.

More often than not, people make the false assumption that plain water is all they need to rehydrate, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Drinking plain water can further deplete your electrolytes, leading to electrolyte imbalances, which may cause cramping, fatigue, poor recovery, and reduced performance.

In other words, proper hydration is achieved through a combination of water and electrolytes, which is why we created Electrolytes+!

A Premium Hydration Formula

Electrolytes+ was formulated to replenish all six key electrolytes that are lost through sweat and intense exercise. Electrolytes+ contains:

  • 200 milligrams of sodium (as pink Himalayan salt)
  • 110 milligrams of potassium (as potassium bisglycinate chelate & coconut water concentrate)
  • 214 milligrams of magnesium (as magnesium bisglycinate chelate & magnesium chloride)
  • 100 milligrams of calcium (as calcium bisglycinate chelate)
  • 340 milligrams of chloride (as pink Himalayan salt & magnesium chloride)
  • 50 milligrams of phosphorus (as phosphorus chelate)

In addition to the full electrolyte panel, Electrolytes+ contains 90 milligrams of vitamin C, 2,000 milligrams of taurine, 1,000 milligrams of coconut water powder (as CocOganic®) and 100 milligrams of ionic trace minerals (as ConcenTrace AC®). These ingredients were included to further optimize hydration, boost recovery, and enhance performance.

Other key features of Electrolytes+ includes:

Suggested Use

As a dietary supplement, mix 1 scoop (~8.2 grams) with 10-12 ounces of cold water. Vary the amount of liquid to suit your taste preference.

For optimal results, consume before, during, and/or after training. Electrolytes+ can also be taken throughout the day and on non-training days to support hydration.

Stacking Options

Electrolytes+ stacks well with the following supplements:

Flavor Profiles

Lemon Lime

Citrus, sweet, and salty! Lemon Lime is one of those flavors that never gets old. If you enjoy the classic and refreshing combination of lemon and lime, then this is a must-try flavor.

Keep in mind that we wanted to keep the flavor profile for Electrolytes+ light, so if you enjoy a stronger flavor, use less water! Lemon Lime is great on its own, but it also pairs nicely with Strawberry Kiwi!

Strawberry Kiwi

Where fresh ripe strawberries meet sweet and zesty kiwis! Strawberry kiwi is another flavor that's hard to beat. It brings you back to sitting on the porch, drinking juice, on a hot summer day.

If you're craving something a bit on the sweeter side, then Strawberry Kiwi Electrolytes+ will hit the spot. If you're a strawberry lemonade fan, then we highly suggest mixing half a scoop of strawberry kiwi with lemon lime!

Ingredient Breakdown

Vitamin C

Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is a water-soluble vitamin that's essential for numerous bodily functions. Vitamin C plays a major role in immune system function, collagen, neurotransmitter, and L-carnitine synthesis, and protein metabolism.

Vitamin C primarily serves as a powerful antioxidant, which means it helps combat harmful free radicals. In regards to performance, vitamin C may increase nitric oxide production via nitric oxide synthase. An increase in nitric oxide production causes vasodilation of the blood vessels, leading to improved blood flow, nutrient, and oxygen delivery.

Every serving of Electrolytes+ contains 90 milligrams of vitamin C coming from ascorbic acid.

Sodium

Sodium is one of the major minerals our body needs to function properly. Sodium is involved in a variety of physiological functions. Most notably, sodium maintains normal fluid levels outside of cells.

Sodium also contributes to:

  • Muscle contractions
  • Nutrient and water uptake into the cells
  • Nervous system signaling
  • Blood pressure regulation

Sodium is also one of the key minerals that's lost in sweat, so replenishing your sodium levels during or after exercise is very important. The amount of sodium you need to intake is highly individual and will depend on how long you train, how much you sweat, and other factors.

Every serving of Electrolytes+ contains 200 milligrams of sodium coming from pink Himalayan salt.

Potassium

Potassium is an essential mineral and electrolyte that your body needs to work properly. Potassium is primarily involved in muscle contractions, nerve impulses, heart function, and the regulation of water balance. Unlike sodium, which maintains normal fluid levels outside of the cell, potassium maintains normal fluid levels inside of the cell.

Although sodium is normally in the spotlight when it comes to electrolytes, the body actually needs more potassium on a daily basis. In fact, it's the third most abundant mineral in the body. Low potassium intake can lead to muscle cramps, fatigue, and other adverse effects.

Every serving of Electrolytes+ contains 110 milligrams of potassium coming from coconut water concentrate and potassium bisglycinate chelate.

Chloride

Chloride is another key mineral and electrolyte that works alongside sodium and potassium to maintain a proper balance of fluids in the body. Furthermore, chloride is an essential component of stomach acid which is crucial for digestion.

Chloride also plays a role in muscle contractions, nerve impulses, blood pressure regulation, and helps red blood cells convert carbon dioxide to oxygen. Chloride may not be as popular as sodium or potassium, but it's important for health and performance.

Each serving of Electrolytes+ contains 340 milligrams of chloride coming from pink Himalayan salt and magnesium chloride.

Calcium

Calcium is a mineral that's most well-known for its role in maintaining strong bones and teeth, but it's also needed for muscle contractions, heart function, blood clotting, and carrying out nerve impulses.

What's more, calcium helps the body release hormones that lead to a variety of effects. As you can see, consuming enough calcium on a daily basis is important for a number of reasons.

Every serving of Electrolytes+ contains 100 milligrams of calcium coming from calcium bisglycinate chelate.

Magnesium

The last mineral and electrolytes included in Electrolytes+ is magnesium. Magnesium is important for nerve and muscle function, blood pressure regulation, protein, bone, and DNA synthesis, and blood glucose control.

Additionally, magnesium is required for glycolysis, energy production, and oxidative phosphorylation. Athletes are at a higher risk of magnesium deficiency because intense exercise depletes magnesium levels. Even marginal magnesium deficiency can impair athletic performance.

Every serving of Electrolytes+ contains 214 milligrams of magnesium coming from magnesium bisglycinate chelate and magnesium chloride.

Taurine

Taurine is a conditionally essential amino acid that's involved in regulating calcium levels, synthesizing bile salts, electrolyte balance, immune system function, hydration, and nervous system function. Even though your body can produce taurine, under certain circumstances, supplementing with taurine can be very beneficial.

Consuming additional taurine may help support eye health, metabolism function, heart health, recovery, and exercise performance. According to some studies, taurine is effective at increasing muscular endurance.

Every serving of Electrolytes+ has 2,000 milligrams of L-taurine.

Coconut Water (as CocOganic®)

To further promote hydration, we added CocOganic®, an organic, freeze-dried coconut water powder that’s highly soluble. Coconut water is naturally rich in electrolytes, including magnesium and potassium. Since electrolytes play a crucial role in hydration, muscle contractions, and nerve impulses, it’s important to consume enough of them for optimal performance & health.

Coconut water also contains a high amount of B vitamins, minerals, trace elements, enzymes, antioxidants, and phytonutrients that provide your body with an abundance of health benefits. Coconut water is the richest dietary source of cytokinins, a plant hormone that possesses anti-aging properties.

Every serving of Electrolytes+ has 1,000 milligrams of CocOganic®.

Ionic Trace Minerals (as ConcenTrace®)

ConcenTrace® contains naturally occurring ionic trace minerals that are harvested from the Great Salt Lake using a proprietary process called ConcenFlo™. Due to the depletion of minerals in topsoil, the majority of people fail to consume an adequate amount of trace minerals from diet alone. This is one of the main reasons why ConcenTrace® was developed.

ConcenTrace® provides your body with the essential minerals that aren’t supplied by your diet.  Supplementing with ConcenTrace® will help naturally increase energy levels, performance, and vitality, support bone and joint health, and promote cardiovascular health. ConcenTrace® is Non-GMO Project Verified, GRAS-Affirmed, Halal Certified, Kosher Certified, and Vegan Certified.

Every serving of Electrolytes+ contains 100 milligrams of  ConcenTrace®.
