Heather Jacques |

Since 2018, Farm Fed has been one of our top-selling products thanks to its amazing taste, creamy texture, mixability, and quality ingredients. With that said, we are all about finding ways to improve our products. So that’s exactly what we did with the new and improved Farm Fed!

Farm Fed now contains 25 grams of protein from 100% whey protein isolate and 100 milligrams of DigSEB® digestive enzymes per serving! Regardless of which flavor you choose, each tub contains a total of 28 servings. You get 40 more grams of protein in each tub than the original Farm Fed.

Farm Fed is soy-free, non-GMO, gluten-free, cold-processed, low fat, low carb, and easy to digest!

Every lot is third-party tested for protein content, heavy metals, and microbials. Cookies & Cream, however, does contain Gluten and Soy from the cookie pieces included in the protein.

Ingredients

100% Whey Protein Isolate - 25 grams

Farm Fed’s ingredient list is pretty simple: the only protein source it uses is 100% whey protein isolate that’s hormone-free, antibiotic-free, and soy-free. We chose to use whey protein isolate because it’s 90%+ protein by weight, meaning it contains minimal amounts of fat, lactose, or carbohydrates.

Whey protein isolate is naturally rich in branched-chain amino acids and essential amino acids, easy to digest, and absorbs quickly, making it ideal for post-workout. However, whey protein isolate can be used anytime to help you reach your daily protein requirements.

How much protein is optimal?

Protein is considered an essential macronutrient, which means your body cannot produce it independently. That’s where proper diet and supplementation come into play! Most active individuals should aim to consume 0.8~1 grams of protein per pound of body weight.

For example, if you weigh 200 lbs, your daily protein intake should be between 160-200 grams of protein. If you weigh 150 lbs, you should consume 120-150 grams of protein daily.

Unlike carbohydrates and fats, the body has no storage mechanism for protein, so eating multiple servings of protein throughout the day is ideal for maximizing protein synthesis. Having anywhere from 3-5 servings of protein daily will help prevent excessive muscle protein breakdown, resulting in better recovery and performance.

Regarding weight loss, protein is the most satiating macronutrient and has the highest thermic effect of food (TEF). In other words, it keeps hunger at bay, and the body burns more calories to digest protein than carbs or fats. That’s why some people eat more than 1g of protein per pound of body weight during a cut.

DigeSEB® Digestive Enzymes - 100 milligrams

We were among the first companies to add digestive enzymes to a whey protein isolate to enhance nutrient absorption. Since the amount of protein per serving has increased to 25 grams, we upped the digestive enzyme to 100 milligrams.

Farm Fed still uses DigeSEB® digestive enzymes from Speciality Enzymes and Probiotics. DigeSEB® consists of the following enzymes:

  • Amylases - helps break down carbohydrates
  • Lacatse - helps break down lactose
  • Proteases - helps break down protein
  • Lipase - helps break down fats
  • Cellulase - helps break down cellulose

This digestive enzyme blend helps minimize gastrointestinal distress and maximize nutrient absorption. In other words, it ensures you get the most out of Farm Fed!
