DBAP: Our Hardest Hitting Pre-Workout Yet

DBAP: Our Hardest Hitting Pre-Workout Yet

Heather Jacques |

There are hundreds, if not thousands, of pre-workouts on the market. The pre-workout category is not only the most popular, but it’s also the most saturated category in the sports nutrition industry.

Within the pre-workout space, high stim pre-workouts are amongst the most sought-after. Since the demand is there, we took it upon ourselves to develop one of the highest-stim and hardest-hitting pre-workouts on the market.

Allow us to introduce you to the one and only… DBAP!

Seth Feroce once said… “dont’ be a pxssy!” DBAP crosses the line between a high-stim pre-workout and high-powered thermogenic. It was specifically formulated for the hard-working M’fer with a stimulant tolerance that’s out of control. Every serving of DBAP contains nearly 550 milligrams of caffeine coming from a combination of fast-acting caffeine anhydrous and extended-release zumXR®.

And the stims don’t stop there!

DBAP also contains a several exotic stimulants including theobromine, synephrine HCL, alpha-yohimbine, and yohimbine HCL. This stimulant matrix along with 550 milligrams of caffeine is what takes DBAP from being a typical high-stim pre-workout to an out of this world experience. Not to mention, DBAP features gamma buytrobetaine to turn up the heat.

That’s not all that DBAP has to offer, keep reading to see what the rest of the formula contains!

DBAP Ingredient Breakdown

Here’s what one scoop (~12 grams) of DBAP contains:

B Vitamins

DBAP contains vitamin B3, vitamin B6, and vitamin B12, which are all water soluble vitamins. Each B vitamin has their own unique benefits and functions within the human body.

Vitamin B3, also known as niacin, plays an important in the synthesis of NAD (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide). Nearly 400 enzymes require NAD to carry out their reactions, especially cellular metabolic redox processes. Most importantly, NAD helps convert protein, carbs, and fats into energy (as ATP).

Vitamin B6 is a generic name for six different compounds, also known as vitamers. Vitamin B6 is a coenzyme that’s involved in over 100 enzymatic reactions, most of which are involved in protein metabolism. Vitamin B6 also contributes to cognitive function, gluconeogenesis and glycogenolysis. In other words, it helps breakdown glycogen to be used for energy.

Vitamin B12 contains the mineral cobalt, so compounds that contain vitamin B12 are often referred to as cobalamins. Vitamin B12 is crucial for red blood cell formation, DNA synthesis, and immune system function. Vitamin B12 is also an important cofactor for two enzymes – methionine synthase and L-methylmalonyl-CoA mutase. These enzymes assist in the conversion of homocysteine to methionine, an essential amino acid.

Every serving of DBAP contains:

  • Niacin (as Niacinamide) - 25 milligrams NE
  • Vitamin B6 (as Pyridoxine HCL) - 20.75 milligrams
  • Vitamin B12 (as Cyanocobalamin) - 200 micrograms

Beta-Alanine - 3.2 grams

Beta-alanine is a non-essential amino acid that’s naturally produced in the body. Beta-alanine combines with the essential amino acid histidine to form carnosine. Carnosine is heavily concentrated in the skeletal muscle. Carnosine boosts exercise performance by acting as a lactic acid buffer. Simply put, the more carnosine you have in your muscles, the more muscular endurance and stamina you will have.

Every serving of DBAP contains 3.2 grams of beta-alanine, which reliably increases your muscular endurance, allowing you to get a few more reps! It’s important to note that a common side effect of beta-alanine is paresthesia, which is described as a pins-and-needles sensation that normally occurs in the hands and face. This is a harmless side effect that should subside within 20-30 minutes. The more consistently you take beta-alanine, the less tingles you will likely feel.

Betaine Anhydrous - 2.5 grams

Betaine anhydrous, also known as trimethylglycine, is a compound that’s comprised of three methyl groups and one glycine. Betaine anhydrous is naturally made in the body and also found in various foods, such as spinach, beets, and seafood. Betaine is used as a dietary supplement because of its powerful health and performance boosting properties.

Betaine supports cardiovascular health, while improving strength, power, and body composition. Not only does betaine support cellular hydration, but it also helps with the conversion of homocysteine to methionine. It seems that betaine supplementation may enhance protein synthesis, leading to an improvement in body composition.

Every serving of DBAP contains the clinically studied dose of betaine anhydrous, which is 2.5 grams.

Taurine - 1 gram

Taurine is a conditionally essential amino acid that's involved in regulating calcium levels, synthesizing bile salts, electrolyte balance, immune system function, hydration, and nervous system function. Even though your body can produce taurine, under certain circumstances, supplementing with taurine can be very beneficial.

Consuming additional taurine may help support eye health, metabolism function, heart health, recovery, and exercise performance. According to some studies, taurine is an effective ergogenic aid, especially for boosting muscular endurance.

Every serving of DBAP contains 1 gram of taurine.

L-Tyrosine - 1 gram

To elevate your focus and mind-to-muscle connection, DBAP had 1 gram of L-tyrosine. Similar to taurine, tyrosine is classified as a conditionally essential amino acid because the body can produce it endogenously.

Excessive amounts of physical and mental stress can significantly deplete tyrosine levels, so supplementing with tyrosine prior to exercise may boost performance.

Tyrosine is a precursor to three primary catecholamine neurotransmitters:

  • Dopamine: responsible for mood, motivation, memory, reward, body movements, and pleasure
  • Norepinephrine: increases heart rate, blood pressure, and the breakdown of fatty acids and glycogen
  • Epinephrine: raises blood sugar levels, heart rate, and lipolysis

These neurotransmitters play an important role in cell-to-cell communication and are heavily involved in the sympathetic nervous system, which is active during exercise. By increasing the production of norepinephrine, epinephrine, and dopamine, tyrosine may mitigate stress and boost cognitive function.

Caffeine Anhydrous - 475 milligrams

Caffeine anhydrous is a dehydrated form of caffeine that provides you with fast-acting energy. It’s also one of the most researched ingredients in sports nutrition and has been proven to be a safe and effective ergogenic aid. Caffeine anhydrous primarily raises energy levels by inhibiting adenosine, a nucleoside in the brain that causes decreased neuronal activity.

Caffeine also prevents the breakdown of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP), a secondary messenger involved in the metabolism of carbohydrates and fats. Therefore, caffeine may help facilitate weight loss, especially since it significantly reduces appetite and boosts your metabolism.

Furthermore, caffeine has been shown to reduce pain perception and perceived effort. Due to its wide range of physiological effects, caffeine significantly enhances both physical and mental performance. Every serving of DBAP contains a total of 475 milligrams of caffeine, but that’s not the only form of caffeine DBAP contains!

Alpha-GPC - 300 milligrams

Alpha-glycerylphosphoryl choline (alpha-GPC) is a cholinergic compound that possesses powerful cognitive-boosting properties. as the name suggests, alpha-GPC is made up of two components — a glycerophosphate molecule and a choline molecule. The choline component is primarily used for acetylcholine production.

Acetylcholine is the primary neurotransmitter that’s responsible for several bodily functions, including muscle contractions, nerve impulses, memory, and learning. The glycerophosphate component of alpha-GPC supports the structure of cellular membranes, which is an added health benefit that’s not offered by other supplemental forms of choline.

Studies show that supplementing with alpha-GPC may improve cognitive function, reduce the rate of cognitive decline, and enhance power output. Overall, alpha-GPC is a phenomenal supplement for supporting brain health, boosting cognition, and increasing performance!

ZumXR® Extended-Release Caffeine - 100 milligrams

In addition to 475 milligrams of caffeine anhydrous, DBAP contains 100 milligrams of zumXR®, which delivers another 75 milligrams of caffeine. ZumXR® is an extended-release caffeine that was developed by PLT Health Solutions.

ZümXR® Extended-Release Caffeine is designed to provide long-term energy without the ‘crash’ associated with many caffeine products. ZumXR® delivers not more than 55% of its total caffeine content in 1 hour and not less than 80% in 6 hours. Simply put, you get a sustained release of caffeine that lasts long after your workout is done.

Theobromine - 100 milligrams

Theobromine is a xanthine molecule that has a similar chemical structure to caffeine. It’s naturally found in cocoa extract and is known for its ability to mood, alertness, and energy levels.

Similar to caffeine, theobromine carries out its effects by blocking adenosine receptors, but it also inhibits phosphodiesterases. If you start to feel a bit euphoric from taking DBAP, now you know why!

Gamma Butyrobetaine - 30 milligrams

Gamma butyrobetaine, or GBB for short, is a naturally occurring molecule that helps increase L-carnitine levels in the body. L-carnitine is a compound that’s required for fatty acid oxidation. It helps transport fatty acids into the mitochondira of the cell to be converted into energy (as ATP).

A common side effect of GBB is increased sweating, so if you start to get more sweaty than normal, GBB is to blame! This is just one of the ingredients that makes DBAP a thermogenic!

Synephrine HCL - 30 milligrams

Synephrine is an protoalkaloid that’s naturally found in some foods, such as the bitter orange fruit. Synephrine is known for its ability to suppress appetite, increase energy and focus, support weight loss, and increase athletic performance.

Most notably, synephrine increases your total caloric expenditure. This is yet another ingredient that makes DBAP a powerful thermogenic.

Rauwolsince (Alpha-Yohimbine) - 2.7 milligrams & Yohimbine HCL - 2 milligrams

To round out the formula and the stimulants, DBAP contains two forms of yohimbine – alpha-yohimbine and yohimbine hydrochloride. Both of these dietary ingredients are powerful central nervous system stimulators.

They are often found in potent fat burners because of their ability to suppress appetite, elevate mood, enhance energy levels and alertness, and increase thermogenesis.
