What's a Thermogenic?

Springtime usually means people are on a mission to get in shape for the summertime. If that’s you, this article will help you determine which thermogenic is right for you.

Over the past year, we’ve released a powerful thermogenic powder and revamped our capsule-based fat burner. Since then, one of our most frequently asked questions is…

What’s the difference between 212º Thermo and FYRED?

So that’s exactly what we’re going to cover today.

First, let’s cover what a thermogenic is and what you can expect from taking one. Thermogenic or fat burners, don’t magically make you lose fat despite how they are marketed or advertised. Most are designed and formulated to help you manage the symptoms of being in a caloric deficit.

For example, it’s common to experience fatigue, poor mood, high appetite, reduced performance, decreased focus, and a slower metabolism when dieting. This is because there’s lower energy availability for the body and brain. Not to mention your body will adapt to the reduced caloric intake, causing your weight loss to stall.

This is where thermogenics come in handy! They contain specific ingredients that help facilitate weight loss by increasing energy levels, mood, focus, performance, fatty acid oxidation, and metabolism while reducing hunger and cravings.

Regardless of what thermogenic you use, it’s crucial for fat loss to have a proper diet, training, hydration, and sleep regimen. Furthermore, losing fat takes time so be patient with yourself. You didn’t gain all the weight overnight, so don’t expect to lose it that quickly either.

Now that you know what a thermogenic is and what to expect, let’s compare and contrast 212º Thermo and FYRED V2.

212º Thermo vs FYRED V2

First, 212º Thermo and FYRED V2 are stimulant-based fat burners so they should not be taken simultaneously or stacked with any other product that contains stimulants. They also should not be used within 5-6 hours of bedtime. As always, consult with a healthcare professional before taking any dietary supplements.

Delivery Format

The most obvious difference between these two supplements is their delivery form. 212º Thermo is a powder whereas FYRED V2 is a capsule. This may seem insignificant, but some people prefer capsules over powders and vice versa. Not to mention, thermogenics usually contain ingredients that have a spicy flavor.

Although we do a great job at masking the spice, it may be too intense for some people’s palates. If you’re trying to limit artificial sweeteners, then FYRED V2 is the way to go. But if you want a tasty drink and don’t mind a little spice, 212º Thermo is a better choice here.

Because 212º Thermo is a powder, it allows for high doses of specific ingredients. You can only fit so much powder into a capsule and it becomes unfeasible to keep upping the serving size. There are very few people who like taking more than six capsules at a time, so that’s where using a powder format is more realistic.

Caffeine Content and Sources

A big difference between 212º Thermo and FYRED V2 that’s important to note is their caffeine content. 212º Thermo contains 300 milligrams of caffeine in a full scoop from Caffeine Anhydrous, whereas FYRED contains 200 milligrams from a combination of Caffeine Anhydrous and ZümXR® extended-release caffeine.

Although FYRED V2 has less caffeine, it may last longer thanks to the ZümXR®. With that said, 212º Thermo may be better for those with a higher caffeine tolerance, and is sure to hit you faster and harder.

212º Thermo contains Theobromine and Synephrine from the bitter orange extract to raise energy levels and alertness. FYRED V2 also contains Theobromine, but instead of Synephrine, it features Alpha-Yohimbine HCI and Yohimbine HCI for an extra boost.

GBB Content

When choosing between 212º Thermo and FYRED V2, the GBB difference may be the deciding factor. 212º Thermo contains 40 milligrams of GBB in a full serving whereas FYRED V2 doesn’t contain any. This ingredient dramatically increases your internal temperature causing you to sweat more than usual.

Sweating during a workout is ideal but sweating while sitting at your desk at work would be unpleasant. We purposely left GBB out of FYRED V2 to give people a thermogenic that can be taken even when you’re not working out. With that said, GBB offers many benefits, such as increased thermogenesis, fat oxidation, energy, and cognitive function.

For this reason, we strongly recommend only taking 212º Thermo before cardio or resistance training. Not to mention, it’s a good idea to start with a half scoop to assess tolerance because 212º Thermo is so strong. FYRED V2 can be taken any day or any time except 5-6 hours before sleep since it contains caffeine.

Trademarked Ingredients

212º Thermo and FYRED V2 both contain a total of three trademarked ingredients, here’s a breakdown of which ones:

  • 212º Thermo features InnoSlim®, CaloriBURN®, and BioPerine®
  • FYRED V2 features InnoSlim®, Capsimax®, and Advantra Z®

As you can see, they both contain InnoSlim® which is an ingredient from NuLiv Science that promotes weight loss by improving the body’s ability to use fat for fuel. 212º Thermo contains CaloriBURN®, a high-quality grains of paradise extract that raises caloric expenditure and helps convert white adipose tissue to brown adipose tissue. Lastly, BioPerine®, a black pepper extract that increases absorption and bioavailability was added to 212º Thermo to enhance its overall effectiveness.

FYRED V2 features Capsimax® a concentrated extract of capsaicinoids from red chilli peppers that enhances metabolism and burns more calories. It also contains Advantra Z®, a bitter orange extract standardized to contain 50% Synephrine, which increases energy and fat oxidation while lowering appetite.

Suggested Use

  • 212º Thermo: Mix ½-1 scoop with 6-8 ounces of cold water and consume 15-20 minutes before cardio or resistance training. Start with ½ scoop to assess tolerance. Do not use it within 5-6 hours before sleep or in conjunction with any other products that contain stimulants.
  • FYRED V2: Take 1 serving, or 3 capsules, in the morning or 15-20 minutes before cardio or resistance training. Start with 2 capsules to assess tolerance. Do not use it within 5-6 hours before sleep or in conjunction with any other products that contain stimulants.

Stacking

Since FYRED V2 and 212º Thermo contain caffeine they can be stacked with any of our stimulant-free products, such as:

If you have 212º Thermo and FYRED V2, you can take 212º Thermo on your workout days and use FYRED V2 in the morning on active rest days. Never take 212º Thermo and FYRED on the same day.

Final Thoughts

Regardless of which thermogenic you use, ensure adequate water and electrolytes are consumed since you’ll be sweating more than usual. Thermogenics are not magic but they can be beneficial during a fat-loss phase. The best way to drive weight loss is through a proper diet and training protocol.
