Question & Answer

Where are you from?

  • I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA.

What got you interested in bodybuilding?

  • I always enjoyed lifting weights, however since I played basketball, football, and track, I never placed a big emphasis on bodybuilding until much later. After picking up weight lifting again after college, my dad and I went to watch a documentary focused around bodybuilding called Generation Iron.
  • After watching that movie, my dad convinced me to compete in an actual bodybuilding show. In 2015, I placed 2nd in my class at the Pittsburgh Championship and was hooked after that. I just knew that bodybuilding was my calling.

When did you start training for bodybuilding and when was your first competition?

  • I started seriously training for bodybuilding in 2014 and I competed in my first show in 2015.

What’s the most difficult part of preparing for a bodybuilding competition?

  • It’s different for everyone, but for me, the most difficult part of prep is staying disciplined with the diet and not snacking.

What does your diet consist of? (in-season vs off-season)

  • Since I have a coach during prep and in the off-season, I just follow the meal plan he provides me with. So I don’t track calories or macros whatsoever, but I generally stick to whole-foods and consume a high protein, high carb, and moderate-low fat diet. In the off-season, I eat about 7 meals/day, but during prep that gets reduced to 6 meals/day.

What’s your current training split?

  • In terms of weight training, here is my general split:
    • Monday: Chest & Shoulders
    • Tuesday: Back &  Hamstrings)
    • Wednesday: Rest Day
    • Thursday: Shoulders & Arms
    • Friday: Legs
    • Saturday: Rest Day
    • Sunday: Rest Day
  • I also do cardio whether I am in-season or off-season, however the duration and intensity will vary. During prep, cardio can go all the way up to an hour per day, whereas in the off-season, I generally only do 25 minutes, anywhere from 4-5 days per week. My preferred cardio machine is the Stairmaster.

What’s your favorite body part to train?

What's your top two goals at the moment (fitness & business)?

  • Qualify for the Mr. Olympia in the 212 division of Men’s Bodybuilding
  • Grow my personal brand through social media, coaching, and Axe & Sledge.

What's your go-to cheat meal?

  • It really depends on the time of year, but I would have to go with chicken wings and french fries.

Do you have any hobbies outside of bodybuilding?

  • Outside of bodybuilding and coaching, I really enjoy traveling and that’s something I want to do more of in the future.

If you could make any flavor of the Home Made Bar what would it be?

  • It  would definitely be Cookies & Cream!

Why did you choose Axe & Sledge supplements?

  • Axe & Sledge, I used the supplements and truly believe that they are the best on the market in terms of quality, effectiveness, and taste. So before being approached to be an athlete I already supported the brand.
  • After I met the owners, I realized how phenomenal everyone behind the brand was. They treat me with the utmost respect and really value what I bring to the brand. Overall, Axe & Sledge is very welcoming and treats me like family. That's not common in this industry, so it really sets Axe & Sledge apart from other brands.
